How much DigitalOcean costs

Paying for DigitalOcean step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Add a payment method at signup, later under Billing → Payment methods.
- Servers are billed hourly up to the monthly price; the invoice for a month is issued at the start of the next one.
- When you add a card, DigitalOcean runs a verification authorization that is released afterwards.
- You can prepay credit, which pays invoices and lowers the risk of a failed charge.
What can go wrong
If the DigitalOcean payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- DigitalOcean does not serve users in Russia: the account may be restricted if the service decides it is used from Russia. The card does not change that.
- New accounts go through anti-fraud review: mismatched details can leave signup in manual review or trigger a document request.
- Users report that prepaid cards are not always accepted — the service's anti-fraud decides.
- A powered-off Droplet is still billed — delete it to stop paying (snapshots cost money too).
