Paying for GoDaddy step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- You pay at cart checkout; saved cards live under Account Settings → Payment Methods.
- First-year promo prices often require a multi-year purchase, and renewal is at the regular price.
- An ICANN fee of 20 cents per year is added to .com.
- Auto-renew is on by default and charges before expiry.
What can go wrong
If the GoDaddy payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- GoDaddy does not serve users in Russia: the account may be restricted if the service decides it is used from Russia. The card does not change that.
- GoDaddy stopped serving customers from Russia in 2022 — this is the service's own restriction.
- Add-ons (privacy, email, protection) are often pre-added to the cart — review the order before paying.
- If auto-renew fails, the domain enters a grace period and then redemption with an extra fee.
