Paying for HBO Max step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Subscribe at hbomax.com: pick a plan, create an account and enter the card at the last step.
- Every plan has an annual option that comes out about 15% cheaper than paying monthly.
- You can also pay through Apple, Google, Amazon or Roku. In that case cancel and change payment methods where you subscribed.
- Prices exclude tax: US sales tax is added at checkout.
What can go wrong
If the HBO Max payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- HBO Max does not serve users in Russia: the account may be restricted if the service decides it is used from Russia. The card does not change that.
- HBO Max isn't available in every country, and the catalog and plans vary by region. The US catalog is available only in the US.
