How to protect your card from fraud
A virtual card is protected by encryption and 3D Secure, but most theft is social engineering. A few rules cover almost all the risk.
Basic rules
- Never share the details (number, expiry, CVC) or confirmation codes with third parties — not in chats, not on a “support request”.
- Check the site address before entering the card — phishing copies well-known brands.
- Keep only the amount for a specific purchase on the card; keep the rest on your balance.
- For questionable services, issue a separate card with a small balance.
If details may have leaked
- Immediately freeze the card in the app — payments stop.
- Check the transaction history; if there are charges you didn't make, message support.
- If needed, block the old card and issue a new one.
Libermall Card never asks for your CVC or 3D Secure codes in a chat. Any such request is fraud.
FAQ
What should I do first if I suspect something?
Freeze the card in the app — that instantly stops payments. Then check the history and message support.
Does a separate card for risky sites help?
Yes. A separate card with a small balance limits the possible damage, and if it leaks you can simply block it.
