Card won't add to Apple Pay or Google Pay
If the card won't add to Apple Pay or Google Pay, the cause is almost always one of the points below.
Check in order
- The card product supports contactless wallets — this is shown on the card page in the app. Not every card can do it.
- The details are entered exactly: number, expiry and CVC by hand, no spaces or typos.
- The Wallet / Google Wallet app is updated to the latest version.
- Your Apple ID / Google account region allows adding the card (provisioning is limited in some regions).
If it still won't add
- Retry the entry: delete the unfinished attempt and add the card again, entering the data by hand.
- Try on another device with the same wallet account.
- If the product is listed as wallet-capable but won't add, message support with your device model and OS version.
Until the card is in the wallet, you can still pay online by its details. Adding to Apple/Google Pay is only needed for tap-to-pay in person.
FAQ
Why does one card add but another doesn't?
Apple/Google Pay support depends on the card product. The card page in the app states whether it supports contactless wallets.
Can I pay without Apple/Google Pay?
Yes — online payment by card details always works. A wallet is only needed for contactless phone payments.
